it's a long time ago -- maybe 30 years, but the memory and my personal sadness is still there... reading the other threads on the idiocy of the dfing policy has brought it all back.. a young woman in the congregation, raised by a single mother was forced into the situation of leaving home when here mother re-married a brother in the congregation who felt that he did not want this young woman (aged about 19 as i recall it) living in his home.. the young woman is best described by the expression - " one of those who god forgot ", that is, when it comes to handing out the 'charms' that make us welcome in social situations.***.
the young woman found accommodation in a kind of rooming house.
there, she came into contact with an older man - not a witness, of course.
I like your compassionate approach now.

machislop posted a quote from a watchtower on a thread that went something like this:.
"....c. t. russell was patently of that governing body back there in the last quarter of the nineteenth century.".
excuse me, but the expression "back there" makes the governing body sound like a bunch of backwood hicks.
Remember that most WT writers have only a high school education at best.
Having been raised by JW parents I seldom read anything but WT literature. Naturally, I assumed that their English was near perfect. I thought that their run-on sentences were an efficient way of cramming as much info as possible into one sentence. I was nearly laughed out of English class on a couple of occasions.

the father asked me yesterday on the phone if any more of you could help him out with respect to his financial situation in defending against the wts to keep his daughter alive.
he is deeply greatful to all who have helped so far.. as you are aware the wts is trying to prevent his daughter from having life saving blood transfusions during her chemo therapy.
she has leukemia.. the father has won all court battles in all alberta courts.

i was thinking mainly of lee elder, but it seems that that a concise, user-friendly list of the permissible/prohibited blood fractions of current jw policy would be more than a mere convenience... it has life-saving potential!
the mere fact that the watchtower does not see fit to clear the air and print a simple summary of the current blood fraction policy in a ``question from readers'' article or something.. their failure to do so thus far speaks volumes as to how little regard they have for the lives of their drones especially of the children who, in view of the stagnation of the organization, are the society's most promising -- and maybe only -- source of future growth.
brooklyn seems to prefer distributing ``no blood'' cards to the flock and apparently has no interest in clarifying a matter they alone have obfuscated by their confusing and often contradictory rhetoric.
Beetle, you are so right. Without the vaccines the big boys could not travel all over the world. Those trips to far-off places are pretty nice; what a relief to get away from their little pigeon hole in Brooklyn.

That is correct detective, only remember, it is not my diagram – it is the HLC’s diagram!
